lush bartique collaboration

I began photography a couple years back--but only ever truly dabbled in it. In December (only four months ago) I decided I would try to pursue it full time. I'd watch all the videos. I'd learn all the tips and techniques--which is millions--so who knows.

But all I can say is... I wake up early and I put in my hours. Even with a newborn and another part time job. I do everything I can do learn and grow.

One of the BEST pieces of advice I ever got was to COLLABORATE with local businesses. Not only did I not know how the heck to start a "collaboration" but I thought, I am way too 'small' time for any business to want to work with me... for FREE.

Then the most amazing thing happened... my emails I sent out with nervousness got a lot of sweet responses. People genuinely were interested in getting photos done in replace of payment to build their brands and to help with mine.
Even the businesses that decided not to join in on the collaboration were extremely helpful and asked to be considered in future endeavors!

In just a few weeks time, a make up artist, models, and fashion gurus joined our team!

It's important to collaborate with our local business' and I was very blessed that they took the time to open their doors.

Don't give up if you are a new photographer. Reach out to your local businesses and see if you can set up a collaboration shoot. Even if not everyone shows or wants to participate, it's a wonderful experience to have under your belt.

xoxo
